What a great intro.. I love the progression down... as Henri said, rather unusual..
You have this wonderful knack of writing memerable melodies. Whenever I listen to your music, It's going aroung in my head all day.
You're voice is spot on and has a lovely relaxed and esy feel to it.
Love those harmonies, especially art 4.00.. that little backing melody.
Great to hear a new one from you Rod.
Superb..

Wow the beginning is so haunting and pleasurable unbelievable mixtures of notes and vocals. I love your sudden stops your a great song writer Rodrica. Dam this is like Floyd with Barrett - with much better vocals of course! Cool lyrics to go with awesome music your soooo English Rodz haha I love it you need to be on the charts on both sides of the pond - no lie Your production/performance is 2nd to no one.

WoW! this is absolutely amazing, i really love this, really honest. I think its the Chord prog that grabbed me, handed me a rose and turned me upside down and the humming singy vocals along side it luvly!!!
Didn't enjoy the chorus that much unfortunately, but i think thats because i fell in love with the verse chord progg and when ur in love you don't want it to go away..... oh but don't worry, it came back again lol
The drums come in pretty nicely and sound good.
god i love how you sing the verses too i just wanna carry on talking about the verses and intro till i doze off at my keyboard so i will shutup now...
Oh the vocal effects at the end were nice. Well this whole mix is done very well, seems flawless TO ME.
Well Done!

Because your new releases are far and few in between, and because you are so well liked round here, anything new from you is a major event. And you never disappoint. I've watched your production and writting skills grow. This is mixed and performed very well. That voice is absolutely "Rodz". Like Traf, I love those harmonies as well. Drum track is perfect. The wind chimes were perfectly placed. Another catchy chorus seems to be your strong point. The overall feel to this is touching me. I've seen many pics of you with a bass. Did you play bass on this? I like it as well. On my 4th listen.... Your greatest hits CD is gonna be a bitch to decide what goes on it....

diggin the really eerie intro!
yer accent seems thicker on the vox on this one, doesn't change anything, just thought i'd throw that out there yer voice is as superb as always, foreign or not
delivers perfectly on the haunting atmosphere you seem to be shooting for, while staying catchy and accessible
perfect as usual Rodz, you deliver yet again, and i have a new favorite of yours.

Loving this one, the position of the vox in the mix gives it a real ethereal feel, and Sinai is right I can pick out the English accent a lot more here than usual
Great song, I love the way the arrival of the drums transforms the mood from reflective to upbeat
Also - really great job on those backing vocals, they could be confused for a synth they are so perfectly performed
I like this one a lot

love the descending chromatics on the intro...
your voice is tops (as always)
the bird chirps add dimension and I like the FX on them to give them a less natural and electronic feel...
Great topic, I have lots of "Strangers In My Garden" so I know where you are coming from... LOL

Wow it was my birthday yesterday and this is like a belated present seeing a new track here from you to listen to.
Wow the birds are an excellent touch. But it’s when your voice kicks in that the heart just pumps in the anticipation of yet another awesome song of yours for me to love.
Wow your accent is just so pronounced in this track. Very sexy and sung so darn well. As I sing along to the lyrics I am just really impressed with the way this has fitted together so well. This does paint a wonderful picture thanks to your excellent words. Hell the writing you have done here is just perfect.
It’s so good to see you here and this song has really made my day. I love your work so much.

The sounds in the intro gel very nicely. They ease the listener into the main body of the piece in a great way. The feel of the drums propel the piece forward without disrupting the introspective mood that the rest of the instruments create. The tone on the drums is also tasty.

Disturbing but in an artistic way. The hummed harmonies particularly are spooky and poignant.. I like the fact that the lyrical theme is quite deep Could literally be a ghost story or could be a something more metaphorical like a disturbing situation that one can’t get away from. I like songs that make me think about the theme. Vocals distinctively Rodrica, very powerful without necessarily raising the velocity. Exceptional songwriting

Wow,really sensitive bass playing. The drums really wake up the sleepy feeling of the intro. There is an underlying sense of ever present tension going on due to the tonal and rhythmic balance between the chosen instruments.
Very well conceived,and brilliant execution.

Whoa, I love the guitar chords and the eerie keyboard sound in the opening of this. The bird sounds are cool too. Kinda makes it seem like I'm walking though a negative photograph. The body of the song is cool. I don't know why but it reminds me of something that Hall & Oates did. Very excellent track!!!!

You those chord progs are dark, disturbing stuff without a doubt. Very cinematic music, and yes 80's cinema at that, what with your drum and vocal styles.
It is interesting how dark this music is, as the subject matter (somebody you knew so well changing) doesn't seem disturbing/haunting at first consideration. But just like anything else, the longer you think about it, the more deep it seems, which makes it very clear you put a lot of thought into this

Very nice tune, Rodrica. What a haunting melody. It makes this garden a pretty eerie place. I catch the metaphorical use of the garden, but you know, when some people you've known all your life change, and the garden 'dies', the 1st thing I think about is planting another garden..or is that simplifying it too much?
Very nice arrangement to this tune. I LOVE the way it builds into the chorus, then stops, then settles into those beginning chords again. An arrangement that works in my head. I am fond of the dynamics of this song. You're voice is even and almost other-worldly in this one, like you're singing as an observer as well as a participant in the story. I like the bird effects in the middle. You know how I feel about well placed effects in a song, and this works perfectly. Great job...Keeper...PMcC

i agree with clickplay - this is a very well conceived and executed piece. now, to get down to earth more...the birds sing (in my mind in a sunny gardesn) are then are twirping under a dark cloud and then the song begins it's turn. your vox on these lyrics (i read them as you played thanx so much for posting them)are made for each other and your excellent and beautiful performance was produced great.
a really nice way to start my listening today!

Beautiful melody once again... Nice nature sounds! It really paints a picture. Beautiful voice, beautiful mixing, so far this has a just pure GORGEOUS sound. Almost ambient, yet not so ambient that it just sounds like a bunch of weird sounds. Its very musical, and I especially love how it kicks into rock when the chorus begins. I really effing love the chorus in this song. I just love how it all just builds up. The bridge was really powerful too, then back to one last chorus. Awesome! One thing I like in your chorus is when the drums smack down and then there's like a second of silence, and then the music blazes up again. Just adds an awesome effect. I can totally tell you put much effort into your work, and I am totally diggin' it! I wish I would have come by here much sooner than this...

The intro is evocative enough that it edges into modern Showtune territory. It'd probably be a nice fit for the opening scene of a movie or the music that accompanies the credits, too, but for whatever reason, I was picturing curtains opening on an in-the-flesh bit of drama.
It's very succinct, too, which is nice. I don't have a very high tolerance for polish, slickness, because too often, material like that has lot of "filler"...and worse, it's usually icing on a cake that doesn't have real substance to it to begin with! Not here. Here, the music is a vehicle, and the polish keeps the music from getting in the way of the song...if that makes any sense. I mean, it makes sense to me, but then, I usually have some idea what I'm thinking...y'know, not always, but usually.
